Indian Blue Black Shoulder Peafowl

The Black Shouldered Peacock is the second most common peafowl breed within the UK. They are darker in appearance from the Indian Blue Peacock

The main difference between the Indian Blue Peacock and the Black Shouldered Peacock is that the Black Shouldered Peacock has plain black wings with a greenish blue iridescent sheen.  

 

The plain colouration of the Black Shouldered peacock is due to a recessive gene.

The Black Shouldered Peachick is born yellow and within a day the wing tips have changed to a buff colour. 

The Black Shouldered Peafowl breed true, Breeding the Black Shouldered to Indian Blue peafowl will result in either Indian Blue Peafowl or Black Shouldered Peafowl.

We usually have a selection of Peafowl Hatching eggs for sale throughout the season. 

We take pre-orders from March, eggs are usually available April through to August. Eggs are sent first class next day delivery within UK only.

We do not export eggs.
