White peafowl breed true White Peacock x White Peahen.
White Peachicks are born with a yellow down
Within a few days the white peachick develops white tips to their wings.
As they mature the yellow down is replaced by pure white feathers.
White Peachicks are hard to sex before reaching one year old.
White Peafowl are a colour mutation of the Indian Blue Peafowl, and not albinos as first believed.
The lack of any other colour in the White Peafowls feathers is determined by pigment. the White Peafowl have a lack of colour due to a missing darkening pigment that creates any other colour.
